Family Activities this Winter

Now that the cold weather is here, it is important to still stay active as a family outside the school and home. Below is a list of family-friendly activities that can be enjoyed even with younger children. Happy Holidays!

Winter Walk of lights at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia | The Winter Walk of Lights is held every day beginning on Friday, November 18, 2016, and through (Thanksgiving, Christmas and News Year’s too!) Sunday, January 8, 2016. The walk of lights runs daily from 5:30 to 10 p.m. (last tickets sold at 9:30 p.m.)

Jerome Buddie Ford Nature Center *free admission* | Visit Alexandria’s very own Nature Center! At the Nature Center, you can see live animals up close and learn about the cultural and natural history of Dora Kelley Nature Park. The Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center provides year-round programs and exhibits on Alexandria’s human and natural history. Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops, Arundel Mills Circle, Maryland | Bass Pro Shops are featuring their annual Santa’s Wonderland, which includes free crafts and activities for children that runs through till December 24, 2016. View their schedule here:
